Changing MAC Address in Windows for Network Adapters which hide this setting

Tested with Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx under Windows 7

  1. regedit
  2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
  3. Go to subkey matching network adapter you want to change (look for MAC address and driver type)
  4. Add a string value called NetworkAddress with MAC address in this format: 0123456789AB
  5. disable and reenable network interface (e.g. from ncpa.cpl or devmgmt.msc)
