Creating Static Routes for DigitalSky Network

in Debian

edit /etc/network/interfaces

 up route add -net 192.168.25.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 10.2.25.100
 down route del -net 192.168.25.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 10.2.25.100

in Windows

route -p add 192.168.25.0 mask 255.255.255.0 10.2.25.100

for dhcpd

option win-static-routes code 249 = array of unsigned integer 8;
option rfc3442-classless-static-routes code 121 = array of unsigned integer 8;

  # New Option Type for Windows Client Static Routes
  # ./hexroute -v -v 192.168.25.0/24 gw 10.2.25.100
  option win-static-routes 24, 192,168,25, 10,2,25,100;
  option rfc3442-classless-static-routes 0, 10,2,25,254,  24, 192,168,25, 10,2,25,100; # defines default route (10.2.25.254) also

for dnsmasq

# this works on debian:
dhcp-option=option:classless-static-route,0.0.0.0/0,10.2.25.254,192.168.25.0/24,10.2.25.100
# this works on windows:
dhcp-option=249,192.168.25.0/24,10.2.25.100
