For an ext4 filesystem, the version of quota that ships with lenny doesn't work… argh! Upgrade to the version from Squeeze.

  • add usrquota to the line in /etc/fstab
  • remount
  • quotacheck -ucv /home
  • edquota -u 11111 (note: uid 11111 = MCP\tdobes)
    • 20 GB = 20971520 kB - soft limit
    • 22 GB = 23068672 kB - hard limit
    • didn't specify any inode limits
  • for (( i=10000; i<=20000; i++ )); do edquota -p 11111 $i; done (note: uid 10000-20000 specified as idmap range for MCP domain in smb.conf)
